Time with Mommy

I'm such a big girl these days!  Now that I'm walking everywhere, I like to follow mommy around when she is home with me.  Since she is having a harder time lifting me and all the other things that she used to carry, she is combining her loads more...especially when it comes to laundry!  I think it is the best thing and love being carried in the wash basket!

Today, daddy was working so mommy attempted to take advantage of the nice day and start cleaning out the garage before daddy got home.  This is not an easy feat with a little one like me to always watch!  I was a good girl and played with my new sand and garden toys..I seemed to enjoy the dirt and grass too!  This lasted about 20 minutes but that is a long time for me!

Mommy thinks it is funny that she bought me toys months ago to help me learn how to walk and I never seemed interested in them until I already knew how to walk!  Now that I walk on my own, I love to go over to a couple of my toys and push them around the house!  Mommy said that she wanted to include the picture of me and daddy because it captures one of her favorite moments-when I sit on daddy's lap and watch TV.  Mommy seems to think that I'm a daddy's girl :-)





My First Easter!

This year was my very first Easter!  Mommy thinks it is so weird that this is the last of my "first" holidays.  She is a little sad that I'm growing up so quickly yet she says that she loves me at this age!  Mommy and daddy both think that I'm alot of fun now!  Of course since it was a holiday, I was still a little sick.  I ended up sick last weekend for my birthday so mommy took me to the doctor on Monday.  I had another ear infection and upper respiratory infection.  They thought I was getting better with the antibiotics but now I seem to be getting worse again.  They think that the reflux is causing me to get sick.  Mommy and daddy were so hopeful that I could get off my medicine but now they are not so sure :-(
Anyway, eventhough things didn't go as planned, I was still a good girl all weekend!  Mommy says that I'm a good sport about things.  I enjoyed all my goodies that I got in my Easter baskets!  My family really knows how to treat a little princess like me!  Next year I look forward to looking for Easter eggs and my Easter basket.  Mommy was also telling me about a family tradition of coloring Easter eggs with grandma K which sounds like fun too!

Helping Daddy

Daddy is getting real good at putting my toys together!  It's not his favorite job but he likes to see me happy so he does it!  Lately, I like to help him alot.  I like to play with the plastic parts and hand him things even if he isn't quite to the point where he needs that part.  I get highly upset if mommy doesn't let me help him and tries to redirect my attention!

My Birthday Party!

Today I got to celebrate my special day with my family! Mommy tells me that I'm a lucky little girl to have so many people that love me so much! And as an extra gift...I'm getting another tooth! This one is coming in on the bottom and it seems to be bothering me more than my other ones have. I wasn't the happiest camper the 1st half of my party but the 2nd half I was my typical self being such a character making everyone laugh! I really enjoy jabbering and watching everyone's reactions!

Aunt Heather made me my very own special cake that I could eat! She must have spent soooo much time on it and it came out awesome! Thank you to everyone who was able to come and celebrate with me! Thank you for all my great gifts! I'm already having a blast with all my new toys! Lots of love to all my family!

One Year Photo Shoot

Mommy decided that even though she has countless pictures of me, she still needed a professional one to mark my 1st year.  The other day, she dressed me up and took me out for my big picture!  I decided not to cooperate very long but it was partly the worker's fault because mommy warned her about my short attention span and lack of interest in sitting still.  The worker still decided to take her time so we only got 3 good pictures. It all worked out in mommy's benefit though because she still got the one picture she wanted and ended up spending alot less money :-)  Mommy told me that I did a great job even though the picture lady didn't seem to pleased!

Watch Me Grow-12 months old!!

Can you believe I'm a year old today????  What a year filled with new adventures!  I have learned so much about the world around me and I think mommy and daddy have also learned alot about what it means to be a parent!  Mommy told me that this past year has been one of the most challenging yet most amazing times of her life! 
As usual, I have been one busy little girl and making big changes!  Over the past couple weeks, I have gone from napping 2-3 times/day to only one nap each day.  Mommy likes this becuase she says that it is so much easier to go out with me!  There are not many days that we sit home anymore.  I also got another tooth so this makes me up to 5 teeth!  The other big adventure right now is decreasing my reflux medicine.  The hope is for me to be off all medicine by mid May!  So far we have been able to go from 2x/day to 1x/day.  It has not been an easy road but we are determined!  This weekend is the next big decrease.   I think the most exciting news is that I'm walking!  I'm still not real steady but each day I'm braver and braver and will attempt more steps!  Ms. Sally and Ms. Lynette at daycare tell mommy and daddy that I make them worry becuase I seem to have no fear and will even prefer to walk with books/toys in my hands.
I'm really looking forward to my special birthday party tomorrow!  My whole family is coming over to celebrate!  This first year has been great and I look forward to learning so much more in this coming year!  I will get to show the new baby all the tricks that I have learned so far!
Over this past year, mommy has taken my photo next to pooh bear so we can all watch me grow into the little girl that I am today!  She says that she won't make me sit next to pooh bear every month anymore but will still take my picture every six months for a bit and then every year until I refuse!
