Catching Up

Mommy has a hard time keeping up with everything now that she is back to work so below are a hodge podge of pictures from the last couple weeks!

Explore and More Trip

The winter months can get long and boring and since there hasn't been much snow to play outside, mommy and Nae Nae thought it would be fun to get out of the house!  Today we packed up and went to Explore and More in East Aurora.  I went here a couple times last year but I know so much more now so mommy thought I would enjoy myself.  She was right!  So much of the stuff makes more sense to me now!  Of course, I went right for the kitchen and baby dolls though.  I picked out one doll and carried him the entire time we were there.  I tried to leave with him but mommy made me put him back which I didn't agree with!  My little brother came with us and seemed to enjoy himself!  He just looked around and smiled. Mommy is sooooo not used to this type of behavior from a baby so she said that it made everything that much more fun!  Nae nae always takes such good care of me so she chased after me while mommy watched Jaden.  My other favorite part was the "choo choo" train that is by the front entrance.  These are different favorites than the last time I was there so it shows how much things change in such a short amount of time!

Big Girl Bed

Since I used to sleep so soundly and lately have changed my ways, mommy and daddy were at their wits end with not getting any sleep!  I would sleep for part of the night and then just get up and start screaming for daddy (sometimes mommy).  I just wanted to sleep in the chair that is in my room with him.  Since they couldn't figure out why I started this, they decided to try me in my big girl bed.  After all, I am little miss independent so they thought maybe I was just trying to tell them something!
So, even with mommy's hesitation, daddy made my big girl bed this weekend!  I was so excited when I saw it!  I jumped on it, brought my toys on it and couldn't stop giggling!  I did keep patting the pillow and saying "daddy" which made mommy nervous but it was a success!  The first night I woke up early but it wasn't any different than what I had been doing.  Since then, I have slept like a baby and have even slept later than normal!  I love my big girl bed!  My room is a work in progress but atleast my bed is set!

Jaden: Watch Me Grow-4 months old!!

My little brother isn't so little anymore!  Mommy and daddy keep teasing me that he is gonna catch up to me in no time!  Jaden now weighs 13lbs 4oz at 4 months old.  This is still considered small according to the doctors but in mommy and daddy's eyes, it seems big!  I just reached 20lbs a couple months ago!  Mommy hates to jinx anything but she is very proud of how well Jaden is doing.  The first 3 months weren't easy but it seems like the right combination has been found to get him on a healthy track!  Now that he is feeling better, he laughs, giggles and is even happy sitting on his own just watching things around him!  He always wanted to be held before this last month. 
Jaden's personality is really beginning to show-he is much more laid back and easy going, just like his daddy!  Mommy says that Jaden is much more flexible than I am.  She said that I take after her and Jaden will take after daddy!
Jaden has been up to alot in the last month!  He has started to sleep through the night at times, he now uses his jumper, grabs for toys and has really taken a liking to cuddling blankets.  He has experienced his 1st Christmas, participated in his baptism and even started daycare.  He has also experienced his first sickness from starting daycare (and has yet to get rid off) and has met lots of new people that care alot about him!  He has also had his first evaluation and hopefully last, from a PT and OT who looked at his torticolis in his neck (boy that's a big word for me)!  They gave mommy lots of ideas of how to stretch his neck and let me tell you-he screams every time!  Slowly, he is gaining strength in his neck so hopefully he wont need ongoing therapy!  This is all great news! 
His favorite toys right now are his lantern, a musical monkey and his "blue".  I love to help mommy wipe his chin and put his pacifier back in his mouth but I don't think he appreciates me yet because I can be a little rough at times :-)  Mommy says that I'm such a good help though!

Lexi's 1st Time Playing in the Snow

This day has been a long time coming!  Grandma K and mommy bought me all this cool stuff to go outside in and I haven't been able to use it until today!  I didn't even mind putting on the snow pants and mittens!  Daddy is always so much fun so he took me out on the sled at first and then we ran around in the snow.  Bandit, who used to love playing in the snow, joined us and even ran! I fell down in the snow since it was so deep and I thought it was funny when mommy was sure I was gonna cry!  What a fun time!  I can't wait until next year when Jaden can run around with us!

Jaden's Baptism

This past Sunday, my baby brother was baptized along with aunt Ashley!  Aunt Ashley is Jaden's special godmother like aunt Nae is my godmother!  She spoils him already just like aunt Nae spoils me! 

The day started off with a service at church.  I'm not a big fan of sitting so this was a difficult couple hours for me.  Thank goodness for aunt Nae who spent almost the entire service playing with me in the hallways.  Her and grandma K came prepared with all sorts of toys to occupy me and my busy mind!  Jaden slept for the first little bit of the service but then woke up.  He was real good the entire service until the end when he was sick of sitting.  I think he is more boring than me because he is a better sport about sitting and just watching than I am.  He even seemed to like when the pastor put water on his head to baptize him! 

After the service, our family came back to our house for some yummy food and cake.  I even ate some food so you know it was yummy!  Jaden and I both slept while the adults ate so mommy and daddy said that it was a nice change to be able to actually eat!  It was a special day!

Jaden's 1st Day at Daycare

My little brother was supposed to begin daycare on Monday but since he has been sick and having some trouble, his first day was today!  I was up early this morning so mommy took us a little earlier than normal.  Since we got there early, we got to be in the same room until my teacher came in.  I wasn't too sure what to think of my brother being there with me.  I just kept looking and didn't seem to get why mommy didn't take him with her.  Jaden did well though.  When mommy picked him up, the staff told her that he is smiley and loves to be talked to!  This is very true..he giggles and smiles when you talk to him and make silly faces!
Mommy said that it was even harder leaving us today than it was when she left me for the first time.  Good thing we only go 2 times each week!  I told mommy not to worry and that I will show him the ropes and make sure he is settled!

Evening Family Fun

Now that our basement is done, it is my favorite thing to do! It has fallen into our routine to spend some time as a family down in the playroom after dinner and baths at night. Jaden isn't as much of a fan of it as me right now but I'm sure he will love it as soon as he can move around and play more! Right now, he uses his bouncer and jumper.

My favorite thing to do down there right now is to build towers with daddy and then knock them down!

Right before bed and while Jaden gets his bottle, I love to have a snack (especially Popsicles) with daddy on the chair! I get so excited about it that I run from the fridge to the chair laughing the whole way! When we are done, I run to the garbage can to throw out the stick and then run to the freezer saying "more more"! Mommy says that she needs to get it on video!
