Avery's 1st Swim

Today was Avery's 1st time in the pool.  It was super hot outside and the water was 86 so we thought it would be a good day to test her in the water.  She did not enjoy herself but she didn't scream either.  However, we didn't keep her in long and she was happy to be back in clothes!  Only time will tell if she will be a fish like me!  Jaden didn't like the water until this summer so it took him a good 2.5 years!

Jaden's Room

Much like my room, mommy has wanted to do something special in Jaden's for a long time.  Jaden has repeatedly said that he doesn't like his room and that he is scared of his room.  A couple months ago, he got the race car bed for using the potty and not wearing diapers anymore.  His sleeping habits did improve but he still kept asking mommy for a picture on his wall.  Mommy kept thinking about what to put that would be a perfect fit for Jaden.  After a lot of research and thought, she showed him a picture of a dinosaur and he loved it.  She incorporated sports balls since his room is sports themed and he really liked that!  He seems pleased and excited and even said that he liked his room!!!  Mommy said that the late nights and lack of sleep was well worth his reaction!

Strawberry Picking

We love our fruit and we especially love our strawberries!  We love them so much that we are even growing them in the garden!  Today, Jaden and I went to pick strawberries with nae nae and grandma k.  Mommy was very sad that she wasn't able to take us this year.  She said that next year, all 3 of us kiddos can help pick!

While I picked a bunch, Jaden really enjoyed eating the strawberries!  It was hot and sunny but we ended up picking several quarts!  Mommy was thrilled that we brought some home to her!

 

We were hungry from all that work so next we were off to grab some lunch!  I have been asking and asking to go to Chuck-e-Cheese so grandma finally relented and took us there!

Bisons Game

Mommy is going to really miss being home with all of us on Thursdays when she returns to work next month.  We decided to enjoy the time we have and go to a Bisons game today!  Jaden and I enjoyed ourselves but we found switching seats way more entertaining than the actual game!  This was not Avery's favorite family outing but she did fairly well as long as she could sit up and watch everything around her.  She is certainly learning to go with the flow!

Buffalo Zoo Night

There are so many reasons why we love having our Buffalo Zoo membership!  This week, the zoo is open late for members and is offering special events.  Last year we never made it there for this but this year we decided to try it!  We were nervous at first when we pulled up and saw the super long line but thankfully it went quick!  It was a hot, sticky night but we all had fun and Avery was a trooper!

Grandma Time!

Since mommy had to head out to a wedding shower today and since daddy is still recovering from some minor surgery, Jaden and I spent the day with grandma K.  We always love our days with grandma and she always finds something fun to do with us!

First we were headed out for some lunch at Taffy's.  This gave us some fuel for the running we were about to do at the park!

Next we were off to check out a new playground in East Aurora and nae nae met us there!  It had parts that we never saw before like the rolling slide!  It is always fun exploring a new playground!

Cardboard Box Fun

About a month ago, Jaden earned a new race car bed.  We have had the box in the garage waiting for the right time to make something with it since it was so big.  With mommy being on her own with all 3 of us kids the next couple days, she thought it would be a good time to keep us occupied in the backyard.  We decided to make an airplane!  Mommy cut the holes and we colored it and then gathered my dolls, Jaden's Mikey doll and Wags the Dog to take a ride in the plane. This project definitely kept us busy for a bit!

Waterfront Progress

We have been hearing about new secret treasures on our city's waterfront.  Today was our special family day so we decided to check one of the places out.  Jaden and I always think it is neat to go into the city and to see all the big buildings.  We also always ask about where daddy, mommy and grandma k work since we know it is in the city.

It is sometimes difficult checking out new places since we are not sure what to expect and at first, mommy and daddy thought that this place may not be the best choice for our adventures but it turned into an enjoyable time.  Although there was not a playground, there was a slide for us to play on.  There was no barrier between the paved paths and the water which made mommy very nervous but the views were beautiful!  We saw art work, ducks and boats.  We rode our bikes and the highlight was throwing rocks into the water!

 

 



 

We love going out to eat so this week we tried Doug's Dive which was on the water close to where we were.  Ice cream is also always in the mix!
