Remembering Emery
Each year we release my birthday balloons into the air so they can travel up to heaven to our friend Emery. It is my way of sharing with my best friend. We would have been less than 2 weeks apart. Mommy will never forget that day and Emery is very close to us in our hearts. We continue to say our prayer each night before bed and it always reminds us of Emery. She is one of the angels around our bed watching over us. Always thinking of Emery and her family. Happy Birthday sweet angel.

Jaden Playing Baseball
Jaden has been asking for awhile to play baseball and hockey. Since he needs to be a little older to play hockey, mommy thought it would be a good time to try baseball. Jaden had a blast. He participated, followed directions and did a great job! He was super excited that he was given a shirt to wear and a bat and ball to keep so he can practice at home!

The Erie Zoo
Since the weather was almost perfect today, we decided it would be fun to take a short road trip down to the Erie Zoo. We haven't been there is a couple years but remembered that we enjoyed ourselves last time.
All 3 of us were great in the car. It did help that we all have DVD players now and it was Avery's nap time! Once we were there, it didn't start off great. There was a long line to get in and somehow Avery got sunblock in her eye. Once we made it over those hurdles, we had a good time seeing all the different animals from what we have here at the Buffalo Zoo. We were highly disappointed that there were no elephants or sea lions though. After some lunch, it was a smooth ride back with 2 of the 3 kids falling asleep!

My 5th Birthday Special Day
Each year on our birthdays, mommy and daddy take the day off and celebrate it with us in a special way. This year, the day started off with mommy going to school with me to help in my class. I brought in special Frozen cookies to share with all my friends.
After school, we both had our nails painted the same way! Mommy let me pick the colors and how I wanted them done.

Today was an awesome day, especially having that special time with mommy's full attention! Happy Birthday to me!

Then we met daddy for lunch at his work. I thought it was fun to visit him and they let me drink pop for lunch! On the way home, mommy took me for ice cream. I ordered my favorite, cookie dough!
When we got home, mommy and I spent some time together. We took a bike ride, took Duncan for a walk and used chalk.
After we ate dinner (I chose mac-n-cheese), I was able to open the rest of my gifts from mommy and daddy. I was very excited and even had some special daddy time working on my new Frozen Lego castle.

Watch Me Grow: Alexis 5 Years Old
I'm 5 years old! Mommy and daddy can't believe that it has been 5 years since I surprised them almost a month early! This last year, I have grown so much. I have started and learned so many new things. I have started Pre-K, gymnastics, wearing glasses, wearing earrings, and really developed a personality. I have made friends, learned so many new words and even how to spell many words.
Some of my favorite things this year are puzzles, watching toy testers on YouTube, Peppa Pig, playing with dolls and coloring. My favorite foods and drinks are grilled cheese, cider, loganberry and fruit. My favorite popular item right now is anything with the Frozen theme. I love to sing the songs to the movie probably more than actually watching the movie. I also love Mary Poppins at the moment.
Mommy always says that I'm her special helper. I do a really good job playing with Avery, getting her things, helping with the dogs and even cleaning. At 5 years old, mommy and daddy often say that I act older since I'm so independent with most things!
I can't wait to see what this upcoming year brings!
**a note from mommy and daddy** Happy Birthday to our forever baby doll Even though she is getting bigger, she will always be our first baby girl. We are proud beyond words watching Lexi grow into a little girl. She surprises us all the time with what she says, the stories she tells us and what she is able to accomplish. When Lexi puts her mind to something, she is determined and won't give up until she succeeds. She catches on so quickly and masters new skills before we can blink an eye. She is truly an amazing little girl. Happy 5th Birthday Lexi Mae!!!

Swings!
Avery was too little to go on swings last year so this was her first time! She loves to move so we all figured that she would love swings. We were right! I enjoyed pushing Duncan in the swing next to Avery and Jaden was off climbing on the slides! What a fun mommy day!
