What I have been up to..

I have been a busy little girl over the past week or so.  Mommy says that I'm growing up way too fast.  The other day when she came to pick me up from daycare, I was in the older kid room playing and didn't want to leave!  The staff at the center are also talking about me moving up to the next room with the 2-3yr olds since I love being with them.  They are worried about me being small compared the other kids but mommy told them that I may be little but I'm certainly a tough little cookie!  I also need to use utensils when eating in order to move up and I'm not so good at that.  Mommy says that I do not eat enough foods to be able to practice!  So it now looks like I won't move up until the holidays so there are not too many changes at once for me with my little brother coming and all.

Mommy and daddy bought me something this week (big surprise!).  It's a little chair just like their "big people" couch!  It's the best thing ever!  As soon as I saw it, I ran over to it, sat in it and started to giggle.  I like to sit in it with my baby doll and burp her.  I do get in trouble sometimes because I think it is funny to stand on it and mommy and daddy do not find it so funny-that makes me do it more!

On Tuesday this week, grandma K was off from work so she and aunt Nae took me to the zoo while mommy rested at home.  I had a good time and especially liked the polar bears!  I found the elephants boring but the sea lion was pretty cool too!  I even got to pick out a little stuffed animal to remember my visit!  I also got to ride the merry-go-round!  It was fun but I prefer something a little faster!

On my birthday, aunt Heather and aunt Ashley bought me a cool 4 wheeler.  I have tried it on and off since then but have taken a real interest in it this past week!  I finally understand to hold down the button to go faster!  It is one of my favorite toys right now!  Sometimes I get a little too brave for mommy and daddy's liking because I either try to stand on the seat or ride one handed!

Another exciting thing this week is that mommy and daddy signed me up for my first gymnastics class!  We were talking to a neighbor and they mentioned how their daughter who is around my age goes to a class every week.  Mommy got more information and thinks it will be perfect for me!  It's a mommy/daddy and me class every saturday for 45 minutes.  It is a place where I can run, climb, jump and tumble all while playing with other kids my age while mommy or daddy talk with the other parents!  It starts in a couple weeks and mommy seems very excited about it!

Today I'm spending the day with aunt Nae while mommy goes to the doctor.  I'm also sleeping over.  Mommy and daddy are trying to get me used to sleeping over since I will be staying there when mommy is in the hospital with baby Jaden.  I guess he can arrive at any point now and they want to make sure that I'm not too upset!  Before mommy left for the night, we took a walk to the park-I always head straight to the biggest slides!  I tried the little "baby" slides but found those way too boring!

16 Months Old!

What a difference a year makes!  Last year at this time, mommy and daddy spent most of their time trying to get me to stop crying and a year later, I'm a happy, inquisitive little girl.  I babble all the time and know about 15 words.  My newest word is "melmo" meaning Elmo.  I know all the doggies' names and am always willing to help give them toys and pick up their food bowls after they are done eating. I'm such a good little helper!  I'm a tad shy of 19lbs and am about 30in tall.  Needless to say, I'm still a peanut!
I'm done with bottles and am beginning to show small signs of being interested in "using the potty".  I'm still not a fan of the car but mommy and daddy have learned some tricks to help me through it.  I now kind of enjoy going on family walks where last summer, I hated every minute!    I even show signs of cuddling at times which was unheard of even a couple months ago!  I will sit with my juice for about 5-10 minutes watching a video on the tv but after that, I'm off doing something.  I'm surely a girl on the move.  My favorite toy right now is my play baby stroller and my baby.  I love pushing her around the house!  I also love playing outside in the water!  I also love slides and anything that gives me a thrill!
My appetite hasn't increased too much but I do have my favorites that I eat on a consistent basis.  My favorites include McDonald's hamburgers, strawberries, yogurt drops, graduate spaghetti o's and oreos.  I also love my juice or "duce" as I call it!  I almost forgot, I now have enough hair for mommy to put a band in it.  I fight her with this every morning but she continues to try!

Park Fun

Since I'm getting bigger and wiser each day that passes, I really enjoy going to the park more and more.  We are lucky since there is a playground very close to my house!  I'm such a big girl and so brave that I can go down the big kid slides all by myself now!  I do have a bunch of bruises from recent falls while at the playground but that is mostly because I try to get ahead of myself and do too much!  My favorite used to be the swing but now I head right for the big red slide!  I also love to attempt to climb the rock wall but mommy only lets me if daddy is right behind me.  I also get to meet lots of new friends while there.  I walk around saying "hi" to everyone.

Family Pictures!

When mommy was pregnant with me, she had pictures taken about a week before I was born. Since she and daddy have been told that "what they did for me, they should do for Jaden", she decided to schedule the pictures a little earlier this time seeing that it is a guessing game when my little brother will arrive!  Mommy and daddy want to include me in everything so we decided to take some family pictures too!  I was such a good girl and grandma K took me home with her when I was done so mommy and daddy could finish without chasing me around!  In the pictures, mommy is about 8 months pregnant and I'm about 15.5 months!

America's Fair

I took a little trip to the fair last night.  We were supposed to go this weekend but since it's supposed to rain and we never know if mommy will be able to go next weekend, we took advantage of the perfect weather and headed out!  This was my 2nd time at the fair but I don't remember too much from last year since I was so little!  Grandma K and aunt Nae joined us to help out and spend some time with me.  Grandma K doesn't get to see me as much now that she is back at work.  Boy do I miss our special Tuesdays together :-(

I seemed to like the animals but I'm in a little phase where things scare me a bit so I was more cautious than usual.

The pig in the picture kept sticking his snout through the fence and touching my shoe.  I wasn't sure what to think and kept pulling my shoe away!

My favorite part of the fair this year was the lemonade! I never had fresh lemonade before and boy was it tasty!

I'm such a big girl now and even walked a bit while we were there. I prefer to do everything on my own and didn't want to hold anyone's hands. Mommy said no way since there were too many people and she doesn't want to lose me. She recently bought me this doggie backpack that I'm supposed to wear and she can hold the string to keep track of me. She said she will need it more when my baby brother comes and she has to hold him. I'm not such a fan of it. I really hate being restrained so anything that holds me back, I don't like!

A Surprise Family Party for Jaden!

Today we went to grandma and grandpa Christie's house for what we thought was a family dinner.  When we arrived, mommy noticed balloons and thought it might be a celebration for aunt Ashley and Anthony.  Mommy was wrong...aunt Ashley is still not engaged (which we are all waiting for :-) ) but it was a celebration for Jaden!  Everybody was there..even grandma K, aunt Nae and Bob!  Mommy and daddy were so touched and never ever expected it!  I haven't been feeling too well but did so great-small fever and all!  Aunt Heather made very tasty cupcakes with the letter "J" on each one.  I helped open gifts and enjoyed his new toys, especially the dancing dog, musical monkey and singing balloon!

I'm not liking this whole "mommy is having a baby" thing and seem to want mommy's attention so much more than usual.  I stay by her side and on her lap any chance I get!  I'm still gonna be a great big sister once I get used to the idea of sharing mommy's time.

Mommy and daddy thank everyone who made this so special!  It was such a thoughtful idea!

The Week in Review

I'm back!  Things have been a bit slower lately since mommy isn't supposed to be doing as much.  I have played alot around the house instead of going out all the time.  I also went to spend an extra day with my friends at daycare this week!  I'm learning new words and new tricks each day that passes.  The trick of the week is to spin in circles until I fall down!  Daddy does not see the fun in this but mommy certainly does!  I'm also focused on everything being "hot" this week.  I touch things and make sure everyone knows that they are "hot".

I have spent lots of time in the back yard enjoying my little pool and all my toys for outside.  I get frustrated with the lawn mover because it is supposed to blow bubbles but it is a little difficult for me to push.  When it does work, the doggies love chasing the bubbles so it is fun for me and the dogs!

I have also been enjoying popsicles!  Mommy loves it because it keeps me still for about 10 minutes!  Then she dips me in the pool to get me all cleaned up!

My other new trick is to go into the dog cages and pretend I'm a doggie.  I love to lay down and even close the door behind me!  Mommy laughs at me and says "if it were only that easy to confine me"!
