Welcome Avery Charlotte!!!

As many know, little Avery has been a handful before even physically joining our family!  We have all been on edge for months anticipating her arrival!  Mommy was scheduled to be induced and hours before that appointment, Avery decided she was ready and would arrive on her terms!

 

As with every new baby, there is always the "labor story".  Well, after all mommy's worries, Avery arrived almost exactly how mommy would have hoped...quickly.  Mommy experienced hours of contractions at home but nothing she couldn't manage.  When things became more intense, the doctor was called and grandma came over.  Mommy went from 6cm to 10cm dilated within 40 minutes.  She said that this sounds like a good thing and ultimately it is but she also said that she will never forget the intense pain associated with labor completely naturally since everything happened so quickly.  The doctor arrived as Avery already made her presence known!  Mommy said that she will look back and be happy that everything happened so quickly and that the pain was every bit worth it but for now she still gets a sick feeling just thinking about it!

Our precious little Avery arrived at 5:03am weighing in at 8lbs 6oz and 19 1/4in long.  She looks a lot like me when I was born with the dark hair.  Avery has the least amount of hair compared to Jaden and I and was born weighing the most.  So far, mommy and daddy are cautiously optimistic that Avery will cause less trouble than Jaden and I as infants!  She is eating well and sleeping well for being 3 days old now! 

 

Jaden and I love our baby sister and want to be with her all the time.  We are always asking to hold her and look forward to being able to feed her.  The dogs took one look at her when she came home and seemed to all think "another one, really?!?".  They go about doing their own thing and haven't really bothered to pay attention to Avery.  Things will take time to adjust but we are so happy and excited to be a complete family of 5!!!  Welcome Avery Charlotte!!  We love you already!
