Stuck Inside Too Long!

It's me, Miss Alexis again.  I have been stuck in this house with mommy and daddy way too long!  It has been over a week that I have only left to go to the doctor and to visit Aunt Nae for a very short bit.  I'm still not quite up to par and mommy may call the doctor back again tomorrow since she is still worried about me.  I'm hoping to go to daycare tomorrow and see all my friends since mommy and daddy really need to go to work!  Since we have been inside so much, I'm bored with my toys and I am more entertained by bothering the doggies!  When daddy asks the doggies if they want to go outside, I crawl over to the door just as fast as the doggies just so I can watch them while they go outside!  The one night, I wouldn't move and mommy didn't want to knock me over by opening the door so she and the doggies were stuck outside!  I thought it was funny but the doggies seemed a bit chilly :-)

I also have this new thing...I'm taking a real interest in the stuffed animals along the top of my room!  Each night after my bath, I point to the animals and whine until daddy picks me up high enough so I can look around and choose one to play with!  Needless to say, more and more are ending up on the floor and less on the shelves!  I guess it is time for mommy to wash them and then put them back up there!

Time with Grandma K

So this has been a rough week for the Christie household.  I was the first one to get sick last weekend and ended up with strep throat and an ear infection again.  Mommy was hoping she could cancel my follow-up appointment with the ENT in March but it looks like I will need to go now.  Mommy got real sick too this week.  She was down and out which is very unusual for her.  Daddy wasn't feeling good but he was a little better off than mommy and ended up taking care of me and mommy!  He's such a good daddy!  Grandma K took off work one day so she could come over to help.  She spent time with me and even brought mommy and daddy dinner! 

You know when I'm sick because I'm willing to sit in your lap and cuddle.  On a typical day, this would be unheard of!  This book in the picture was a xmas gift from grandma K.  She recorded herself reading the story and everytime I open it, I look up in amazement!  It seems as if I recognize the voice! 

Watch Me Grow-10 months old!!

Only 2 more months until I turn the big 1 years old!  Mommy can't believe it and with encouragement of Aunt Heather, mommy is already planning my special birthday party!  But without wishing time away even quicker than it already seems, today I'm 10 months old!  I have been doing so well that mommy and daddy had the bright idea of trying to decrease my reflux medicine last weekend.  That proved not to go so well.  I had daddy up all night over the weekend and mommy got a call from daycare yesterday so needless to say, I'm back up to my regular dose!  I guess I still need it!
Besides this small setback, I have been endlessly into everything!  It is a struggle to change my diaper since I just won't stay still long enough.  I have learned to crawl up stairs and I'm getting brave with attempting to move along furniture a couple steps while standing.  I pull myself up with ease and even let go at times.  I usually don't mind the fall that follows..good thing for the padded diapers!  I also have another tooth!  My top front tooth is coming in and mommy and daddy still think it is funny that I just don't seem bothered by it! 
My favorite thing to do at the moment is to chase the dogs, play with balls and toys that move and to ride in my push car.  I'm looking forward to some warm weather so we can get outside and start using my car outside rather than take the same circle over and over in the house!

Valentine's Day!

This is my first Valentine's Day and since it falls on a Monday this year, mommy thought we would celebrate a little early.  Mondays are really long days for us and we hardly have time to eat dinner let alone celebrate!  Mommy made me a little heart cake that I can actually eat!  It is soy free dairy free and even she said that it tasted pretty good!  My birthday cake will be made like this too!  Mommy has started my own special recipe book so she welcomes any soy free dairy free recipes that anyone is willing to share!

Christie Family Pictures!

I did it!  I was such a good girl for our family pictures last weekend!  Everyone thought for sure that I would be the one crying or refusing to sit still but I was such an angel!  I of course didn't last long but it was enough to get some good pictures of the whole Christie Family!  Mommy and daddy were so proud of me!

Invading the Doggies' Space

So, as you already know, I have taken over everyone's lives!  The doggies are less than pleased with me and when they thought it couldn't get any worse, I find a new way to torment them!  The doggies love to lay by the front door in the sun.  Eventhough it is freezing outside, Chloe will stand by the door and bark until mommy opens it for her.  Today, I wanted to check out what all the excitement was about so I went exploring by them! The doggies went from laying by the door to huddled in a corner to leaving the area all together.  Mommy says that she feels bad for the doggies and tries hard to make sure they have special time too!

Lots of Family

I have been one busy girl the last couple days!  On Friday, I went out to see daddy's cousin's kids.  Spencer and Chelsea are around my age so we had lots of fun!  Although mommy forgot to take pictures, I had a blast playing with all their toys.  It was like going to a toy store for me especially since many of their toys were different than what I have at home!  I loved this one car toy so much that daddy went out and got me one of my own!  I know, I'm a very spoiled little girl!  Mommy says that she is just so excited to see me doing so well and having so much fun going places now!  8 months of colicky behavior makes a mommy and daddy appreciate every little smile and giggle :-)

Yesterday and today I got to see cousin Tyler, Aunt Kimmy and Uncle Justin!  We haven't seen each other since the summer because last time they came into town, I was very sick.  This time, I had lots of fun sharing my toys with Tyler.  He even liked my new car toy!  I don't think he was too sure of me but I enjoyed following him and watching him!  We even took family photos and I surprised everyone and was so good the entire time!  I wasn't pleased with the dress mommy put me in but I put up with it long enough to take the pictures!  I'm much more of a comfy pants kind of girl...just like mommy :-)

This weekend made mommy realize how well I'm doing now and also let her see that I love spending time with other kids.  Now that she has a couple days off during the week, she said she is going to find a group to get me involved so I can play even more and meet more kids my age!  Life is good :-)
