End of School Year

This has been quite the year.  A very challenging year yet very rewarding also.  We have been able to accomplish so many new things both as a family but also as individuals.  I started Pre-K in September as a shy, soft spoken little girl and ended Pre-K this week as a confident girl who is no longer afraid to speak in front of my class, initiates interactions with other kids and is so very close to reading on my own!  Mommy and daddy are so impressed with the growth that they observed in me that they are trying to figure out a way to give Jaden the same opportunity this coming year.  He will begin Pre-K in the fall in the same program with the same teachers!

Family Day!!!

We were supposed to go to Midway State Park tomorrow but after watching the forecast, we decided to have daddy take the day off and go today!  We love our family fun days!  This park is perfect for us because it is not big, there are little rides that are meant for kids our size and it is not real far away!  Even Avery was able to go on some rides!  She loves motion and laughed when on the rides.  She really liked the pirate boat ride where it made her stomach feel funny!  Such a great day...perfect weather, perfect crowds and perfect family memories!!

The Start of the Lasts?!?

Mommy took us to Rolly Pollies today...all 3 of us.  She was standing there watching us have an awesome time running around and it dawned on her that it was probably one of if not the last time she would be able to take all 3 of us here together.  With me starting Kindergarten in the fall and Jaden Pre-K, we won't all be around to go together.  This is a bit sad to think about.  None the less, we had a great time and even Avery got into the mix!  Mommy wishes that she could upload videos to this blog because I can now do a flip on the bars!  I worked at it for a bit but finally got it and was so proud!!!

Babysitter/Date Afternoon

Now that Avery is a year old, mommy and daddy thought it would be a good time to find someone other than grandma k and nae nae to watch us.  This was a first for our family since nae nae and grandma k are always eager to help out.  Mommy and daddy decided it would be a good time to visit canalside and check out all the hype.  While we had fun back home, they had fun trying out the pedal boats!

Strawberry Picking

This has been a challenging week. Between mommy having to get stitches, Bandit going up to heaven, end of the year school and sports stuff, we have had our hands full.  We love when grandma k takes off work to spend time with us.  We keep trying to get her to retire in the next couple months!  We decided it would be a good day to go strawberry picking.  Mommy and Avery missed it last year since Avery was so little.  Although she couldn't really pick strawberries this year, she enjoyed watching, tasting and even pointing to the red ones!  Jaden and I really enjoyed ourselves this year and picked a whole quart each!  We love our times with nae nae and grandma!

Bandit..Our 1st Family Dog

Bandit was mommy's first dog, her 1st love and 1st furry child.  Bandit is so special to us, the dog who wouldn't do stairs until daddy entered the picture and taught him, the dog who had a crooked nose, the one who loved to suck on a stuffed ball like a pacifier, the one who was mommy's running partner and the one who mommy took everywhere, including the park to play soccer.  He was spunky right up until a couple months ago.  He developed a big sore in his mouth and mommy's gut told her it was more than just an issue with a tooth.  Her gut was right and the dreaded words from the vet took place at that appointment..."It seems to be a tumor."  We knew we didn't have very long but it never seems to be reality until it actually happens.  In the last 2 weeks, things progressed quickly and his spunk was gone.  Sleepovers in the greatroom, cooking him hotdogs to get food into him, lots of car rides, love and tears.  Today was the dreaded day.   We will forever miss you Bandit man.  Hopefully he knows how much he was loved and always will be.
