Family Fun Day!

We love our family time and we are determined to have fun this summer even though we know it will be a lot more difficult to get places with Avery being so little.  It is certainly beyond chaotic trying to get out the door to go places but hopefully with time it will get easier.  Mommy said that she is fearful of the thought of her having to get herself, 4 dogs and 3 kids ready and out the door by 6:30am when she returns to work!

Today we decided to visit Yates Park in Orchard Park.  It is a perfect place to run around.  There is a playground, sand, water and even trails to walk.  Avery likes to be moving so this place was a perfect mixture to satisfy our whole family!

On the way home, we stopped to grab some ice cream while mommy fed Avery!  We all had such fun and all of us kids even fell asleep when we got home!

Sleeping

Our little Avery likes her sleep and we love to watch her sleep!  She almost always sleeps with her little hand resting under her face.  She looks so peaceful!

The Long Weekend

It was a long weekend for many but with daddy working some overtime, it didn't feel like our typical Memorial Day Weekend.  We usually have our family tradition of going into the city to the marina and then watching a baseball game.  We also usually watch the Memorial Day parade in our neighborhood.  This year was a bit different.

Since daddy was working, mommy thought it would be a good time for Jaden and I to have a sleepover at grandma K's new house!  We were very excited and love packing our special suitcases!  Grandma picked us up Friday and after dinner, we went back to her house to get settled and to watch The Fox and the Hound.  We loved it since that it what we have been talking about since coming home!

On Saturday, after our "grandma K" tradition of getting Tim Horton's, we met nae nae at the Marina with grandma.

On Sunday, we decided to take a walk at Tiff Nature Preserve so we could look for some animals!  Last year we saw a baby deer.  This year, the highlight was a bunch of baby geese and turtles.

Each year, our neighborhood has a Memorial Day parade.  The streets are shut down and all the town sports teams walk in the parade giving out candy.  There are lots of special vehicles and fire trucks.  We love being able to walk to the parade, collect all the candy and watch our neighbors who play on sports teams!  It is nice to see the town honor our veterans each year!  It was perfect weather and Avery slept through the whole thing!

Random Weekly Pictures

With the craziness of the house, mommy often forgets what day it is lately.  She says that it is hard to find time for anything!  Below are a bunch of pictures taken throughout the week:

We love our baby sister!  Jaden is so gentle with her!

Jaden's New Bed

Jaden has had a fear of his room for months now.  We are not sure why or what caused it but he gives mommy and daddy such a hard time going to bed and for naps.  They feel like they have tried everything so when Jaden started using the potty, they asked him if he would like his room if he had a "cool" bed.  They showed him pictures and he chose the race car bed.  He has been so excited waiting for it to come in.  When it finally arrived, he couldn't wait to put it together with daddy!  So far, he has been much more excited about his room and the nights have been much improved!  So even though he actually downsized his bed, he seems happy and content in it!

Jaden is a Big Boy!!!

Jaden is certainly our goof ball of the family.  He is also a very determined little boy.  Mommy and daddy knew that he has been ready to use the potty for a long time but he insisted on wearing a diaper.  With the impending changes in the house, mommy and daddy decided not to push it but did keep reminding him that once the current box of diapers ran out, there wouldn't be anymore and he could only wear undies.  He kept telling his teachers at daycare that he would start using the potty once Avery was born.  Well, he certainly stayed true to his word.  Not even a week after Avery arrives, Jaden decides that it is the perfect time to begin using the potty!  Everyone is beyond excited for him!  He decided on his own and has done awesome since.  He hasn't had any accidents and has even kept his pull-up for nap and bedtime dry!  We packed away the remaining diapers for Avery to use.  Mommy and daddy said, "two down, one to go"!  I have been such an awesome helper.  Mommy's hands are often busy with Avery so if Jaden needs help, I'm right there taking care of him!

Touch a Truck Event and our 1st Family of 5 Outing!

There is an event at the local Children's Museum each year and we missed it last year due to our surgeries but mommy was determined to get there this year!  At this event, there are all sorts of different trucks and vehicles that we can sit on, climb and explore!  It is a great event to get out, explore and learn!

The school bus was our favorite by far!!  We loved sitting in the seats practicing to buckle in.

This was also Avery's first family outing with us!  She did great and was a perfect angel sleeping the entire time we were there!
