Thanksgiving Weekend

This is another long weekend and one of our favorite weekends of the year!  It was a bit different this year since we already decorated for Christmas but our time was filled with other things anyway.

We first celebrated Thanksgiving with both our families.  We missed aunt Ashley and uncle Dave this year since aunt Ashley had to work.

This was Avery's 1st Thanksgiving!  Although she couldn't have turkey yet, she did get to eat her oatmeal with us and even tried some special pudding pie that mommy made!

Jaden loves showing Avery how to use the toys.  He gets excited since he remembers the toys but hasn't played with them in a long time!

Next was aunt Ashley's baby shower.  We are so excited to meet little D in February!  I got to help open the gifts!

Next up was our tradition of making dog treats.  Each year, we make special treats for all the special furry kids in the family!  Mommy said that I was an awesome helper this year!  Jaden wanted to get into the mix toward the end.  His favorite thing to do was to help roll out the dough!

Our 1st Snowman

Mommy wanted to build a snowman with us last winter but we never got the chance since by the time we had snow to do it, she was on bed rest.  This year, she was very excited to get outside with us to build one!

Holiday Photos

As we all know, mommy certainly loves her pictures of us kids.  Since we haven't done holiday cards in the last few years, here are some of our Holiday photos this year!  Happy Holidays from our family to yours!!!

Day 5...Sledding

Before daddy headed over to help grandma and grandpa Christie, mommy took us back outside for some sledding fun!  This is the best part of this whole storm.  It made for an awesome sledding hill!

The house doesn't look too bad today thanks to daddy's continuous hard work

Next Phase of the November Storm: Clean-Up

Today, everyone is working on trying to get snow away from the house and out of the driveway.  There is warm weather on the way which means lots and lots of melting.  There is about 6 inches of water that will be around which is a lot!  Mommy worked on getting stuff off the basement floor while daddy worked on shoveling off the roof.  There was so much snow up against our one window that we were worried that it would burst!

The view from the roof.  Our pool is down there somewhere!

Our play dome is completely gone under the snow now!
Snow can be fun.  We have a couple awesome sledding hills right now.  We have one in our back yard and one in the middle of the culd-a-sac.  It is awesome to have all the neighborhood kids in one spot playing!  Attempting to tread through the snow tires us out too!

Snow Snow and More Snow

Wow.  That is the first word that comes to mind this week.  We got warned about a snow storm but never ever did we think it would be anything like this!  The snow is above our heads!  It even ended up burying our play dome in the backyard.  School and daycare was closed.  Even mommy's work closed and that never happens!  She was lucky to get back from Batavia in time before all the snow started but it was close!  We are very lucky that we were all home together, safe.  Daddy worked very hard in trying to keep the driveway cleared with countless hours of shoveling and snow blowing.  Thankfully we have awesome neighbors and everyone took turns helping each house in our culd-a-sac.  What an experience!

 Here comes some help!

A little play time.  We didn't last long since it was so hard for us to even move in it.

That is me way up there!

The 3rd day 11/20/14

What a difference a day makes.  Not only did we have severe thunder and lightening over night, but we woke up to more snow....a lot more snow.  It continued throughout the day...the entire day.  It was so much that we couldn't even play outside!  Let's hope that there is a break soon.  Mommy and daddy are getting worried that there is too much pressure on the one window so daddy is planning to climb onto the roof tomorrow.  Mommy and daddy say that this storm is by far the worse they have ever experienced.  There has been no work, school or daycare all week after Monday.
